Dismal weather was forecast for Saturday, 3rd September so fewer people braved the elements- we had perhaps 25% less through the gate than last year. As things turned out, the rain held off till around 4.30 so most of the activities were not affected.
Our fabulous Dog Agility contest again provided huge entertainment- the less well-trained the dog, the more fun!

Tadley Concert Brass again provided a wonderful atmosphere and children were well catered for- culminating in children.s races and our famous egg-throwing contest, both for the first time in fairly heavy rain!

according to owner Emily. Some baby!
The whole affair was again brilliantly compered by Chris Boott who overcame greater challenges that ever before due to the weather.
Our Best-Dressed Duck competition was a huge success as always. In fact, we nearly had to cancel it because we could not obtain suitable ducks until a few days before!
Sadly, our most prolific prizewinner, Ernie Nobes, was unable through illness to enter the vegetable competitions- we wish him a speedy recovery.

Next year,
Saturday 2nd September 2017
will see the Show’s 75th and we’re already thinking what special events we can organise to celebrate this milestone. Let.s just hope the weather rises to the occasion!
